RISE has been an invaluable part of my learning journey and confidence-building in my early career. RISE has given me an incredibly special community of women and provided me with a wealth of resources, knowledge, and access to people. I use the word "community" instead of "network" because my RISE family is much more than other professionals who I only distantly keep in touch with. Professor Taylor was very particular about creating a community of women who would come together, learn from each other, lean on one another, and build with each other. At a time where I had no idea what "corporate" really meant or how to navigate the politics of my professional environment, the RISE family gave me a community to rely on and the resources to trust myself and be prepared to get back up after each misstep. Additionally, the First-90-Days book was pivotal in helping me to feel comfortable about remembering the various people I was meeting, the skills I was learning, and my contribution to my team. I gained so much confidence from keeping the detailed notes that we were taught to keep. Confidence and community were the two things that I had no idea that I needed, but proved to be invaluable gifts, and I could not be more grateful.
